About the event
This summer, Tralee Bay Swimming Club will be hosting the second Navigator Challenge Swim - a challenging swim across Tralee Bay.
The event will take place on Sunday August 31st at approx. 10am, subject to weather and tidal conditions, and will be in aid of Banna Sea Rescue.
The Challenge is named after St Brendan the Navigator, whose iconic statue stands guard in Tralee Bay.
If the weather is not suitable for the swim across the Bay there will be an alternative route will within the Bay.
You will be accompanied by RIBs and kayaks. Banna Sea Rescue will also be on hand in the morning.
The course is intended to challenge open water sea swimmers who have trained for and feel comfortable taking on a 4.5km swim in open waters and who can demonstrate recent experience of an organised swim of at least 3km.
